Six officers awarded "Distinguished Service Award"

Six officers were awarded the "Distinguished Service Award" for their bravery on November 29th, 2008 involving a front end loader and shootout with the suspect. Recieving the award were Officers L to R David Owens, Robbie Haggard, Gerald Spencer, Nick Fredrico, Rodney Bright, and Brian Mullinax. Also recieving the award but was not present was J.T. Boyd. Congratulations to these officers for their outstanding bravery!
Three officers awarded "Distinguished Service Award"

Three officers were awarded the "Distinguished Service Award" for their bravery on July 18th, 2009 involving suspect Jerry Case. After kidnapping a family from N.C. and coming to the Gaffney area where the family was able to escape, Case led officers on a long manhunt. When officers located him in a wooded area, Case fired on them hitting officer Steve Bright. Bright, along with officer Brian Mullinax, returned fire injuring Case. Recieving the award were Officers L to R Steve Bright, Brian Mullinax, and Reserve Officer Rick Peterson. Congratulations to these officers for their outstanding bravery!
Jason Parker recieves "Dedicated Service Award"

Jason Parker was recognized by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department for his dedicated service to the department by training officers on his own time. Jason is also the Chief of the Buffalo Fire Department and is also an Assistant Coroner. Congratulations Jason on this award!
Knox Blanton named the Detention Center "Officer of the Year" for 2009.
