Crime Stoppers
The Sheriff’s Office, along with other law enforcement agencies in the county, participates in Crime Stoppers of Cherokee County. The program, sponsored by the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, allows citizens to call the Crime Stoppers hotline with information about any crime, suspected criminal activity, or with the location of wanted criminals or stolen merchandise. Law enforcement investigates the information and, if an arrest is made, the caller is eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000. All calls are kept in complete confidence, and calls may be made anonymously.
We do not record or trace any calls to
Crime Stoppers. You do not have to give your name - we only want your
information about crimes. You can call Crime Stoppers at 864-489-CRIME
(2746) anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and report your information
or you can use our anonymous email to report a tip. If you call the Crime
Stoppers Tip Line the person taking your information will give you a code
number. This code number is what is used to receive any reward if a reward
is approved. The Crime Stoppers Board of Directors must approve all
rewards; rewards must lead to an arrest or the seizure of drugs or the
recovery of stolen property.
Leaving an e-mail tip is completely anonymous. Enter your tip below keeping in mind the information that we may need about any crimes. After entering all the information that you have press Submit to e-mail it to Crime Stoppers. We will then assign your tip a code number. You may call Crime Stoppers by phone to find out this code number. This number should be used in calls or subsequent e-mails to Crime Stoppers, remember this code number. You will need this code number if you are due a reward from Crime Stoppers. You will need to check back with Crime Stoppers by phone to see if you are eligible to receive a reward.
