Charges made in exploitation of a minor

Detectives with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office have charged Jimmy Barkley Spencer, age 39, of 2436 East Cherokee Street in Blacksburg with one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor 2nd Degree and one count of Criminal Solicitation.

Detective Tim Clark received information that Spencer had obscene material involving children on a home computer. After securing a search warrant on Spencer's home, Detectives found material that resulted in the above charges.

Spencer is currently out on $50,000 bond.
