2nd Annual Sheriff's Ride for the Relay announced
The first "Sheriff's Ride for the Relay" held last year has again been
planned for this year on May 13, 2006.
The event started as a means to raise money for the fight against cancer
when Sheriff Blanton's wife, Pam, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Also,
several county employees were also stricken with cancer.
The event involves a motorcycle ride leaving Gaffney Middle School and
traveling about 75 miles arriving back at Gaffney Middle School for a meal
and give-a-ways.
Tickets are $20.00 per person, which includes the ride, meal, prizes, and a
tee shirt.
People who do not ride can still come, bring the children and enjoy the
bikes, live music, meal furnished by Outback, and can buy a tee shirt.
We will have several police motorcycles including the SC Highway Patrol and
bikes from other police departments as well taking part in the ride.
Anyone who has cancer or has a loved one suffering from this terrible
disease can come by and donate money in honor of or memory of that special
person.
All the money raised will be given to the "Relay For Life".
