Sheriff's Office searching for suspect in multiple armed robberies

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Cleveland County, NC Sheriff's Office are currently in search of a suspect in connection with several armed robberies involving elderly victims.

The suspect is Gary Ralph Maynor, Jr., age 33. He is described as a white male, approximately 6'00" in height and weighing 170 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

In Cherokee County he is wanted for two armed robberies involving elderly persons where he robbed and assaulted the victims. He is also a suspect in other robberies in Cherokee County.

He is wanted in Cleveland County for robbing an elderly couple and assaulting them with a brick, causing serious injury that required hospitalization.

Maynor's last known address is 301 Borders Street in Blacksburg. He is believed to be driving a late model Red Chevrolet S-10 with SC license plate 4014CX.
