First Annual Ride for the Relay a success

The First Annual Sheriff's Ride for the Relay on Saturday was called a success. The fundraiser brought in over $4800.00 for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Over 100 participants joined Sheriff Blanton, along with his wife Pam, for the ride. The riders cruised through Cherokee County, and several other counties in the upstate, during the 3 hour ride to support the American Cancer Society. After returning to the Sheriff's Office, over 250 riders and community members enjoyed a barbecue lunch at the Sheriff's Office, surrounded by some of the equipment available to local law enforcement.

According to Sheriff Blanton, plans are already in the making to make next year's Ride for the Relay even better.
