Charges made in theft of newspaper stands

One suspect has been arrested and charged with three counts of Pettit Larceny involving the theft and destruction of newspaper stands in and around the Blacksburg area.

Johnny Pennington, age 29, of 305 Dye Road in Blacksburg was arrested last night and is currently awaiting bond.

The Sheriff's Office is still looking for another suspect in this case. Brian Mark Smith, age 37, of 1929 West Cherokee Street in Blacksburg has been charged with three counts of Pettit Larceny and Felony 3 Strike Law.
