Extra efforts planned for Sex Offender compliance on Halloween

This Halloween, extra efforts will be made to check on registered sex offenders in Cherokee County. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, along with the SC Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services will verify compliance with state law regarding sex offender registration.

Certain offenders have been notified that a curfew is in place. Those offenders are to remain in their homes with their porch lights turned off and not receive any visitors. Deputies and Agents will perform home visits and confirm that offenders are complying with the directives.
