Grave desecration discovered in Blacksburg

While on routine patrol, a Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy discovered a grave site at a small cemetery off of Highway 198 near Blacksburg had been desecrated.

The grave vault had been busted and the coffin had been forced open. The body was still in the coffin.

Investigators have contacted the cemetery caretakers and are seeking persons who committed the crime.
